What a unique and fascinating world! I really loved how original and intricate the world and magical system was. I liked the idea behind the spells and casting forms and I enjoyed the concept as well.
The story pulled me in from the start and it was easy to get swept along in this thrilling high-stakes adventure with the characters.
Speaking of the characters; I of course enjoyed them. Liris was smart, dedicated, and independent. Her character was easy to root for and I loved watching her growth throughout the story becoming a confident take charge woman.
Vhannor was a protective, fierce man. I loved him from the story and enjoyed how he grew over the course of the story as well. He was so sweet and supportive!
Their relationship was entertaining and heartwarming to read.
Some great tropes to find here were; found family, forced proximity, independent FMC, protective MMC, end of the world high stakes, political intrigue, banter, unique spell casting, dystopianish world and so much more!
